A lot of people start their day with a glass of lemon water, but most of us can’t imagine our morning routine without a cup of coffee.

Coffee is one of the most popular beverages in the world. In fact, according to the latest statistics from the International Coffee Association, 165 million 60 kg bags of coffee have been consumed worldwide in the year 2019/2020. Without a doubt, that’s a lot of coffee.

With so many coffees brewed across the globe and so many different consumers, it’s no wonder why coffee comes in plentiful varieties. More types of coffee mean satisfied coffee lovers.

In light of the constant search for new flavors and coffee types, some manufacturers decided to offer a novelty to their consumers. CBD users are always looking for new inventive ways to incorporate cannabidiol into their daily regimen, so this comes as no surprise.

What is CBD Coffee?

Bluntly put, CBD coffee is a coffee infused with a particular amount of cannabidiol.

These days you can find several types of CBD-infused coffees on the market.

For instance, one type is cannabidiol-infused whole (or ground) coffee beans, packed in vacuum-sealed pouches.

For this CBD-infused coffee, the natural oils from the process of coffee roasting are used as a “carrier” for cannabidiol. This type of coffee can be found in stores, and numerous coffee shops also offer this coffee to their customers.

The other type of CBD coffee is premade and ready for use, and it’s typically sold in cans.

It’s also good to know that if you have some CBD oil laying around, you can make CBD coffee in the comfort of your home. This is an awesome way to refresh your CBD routine.

When you make your own personalized CBD coffee, you’re not limited by flavors and dosage restrictions.

You can decide how much CBD you want to add to every cup, and play with any flavor you like.

How Many Drops of CBD Oil for a Cup of Coffee

The amount of CBD you want to put in your coffee depends on the daily dose of cannabidiol that’s recommended (or prescribed) to you.

In the recipes that we have for you today, we’ll be making coffee with a low dose which is around 10mg of CBD per cup.

CBD Coffee Recipes

Creamy Vanilla CBD Latte

For this recipe, we’ll use a half dropper of our regular CBD tincture. Since one full dropper of this oil contains 20mg of CBD, our cup of our coffee will have 10mg of CBD.

You’ll need:

  • 1 cup of already brewed coffee
  • ¼ cup of milk (fat from the milk helps to increase CBD bioavailability)
  • A couple of  drops of vanilla extract (or a teaspoon of vanilla syrup)
  • ½ tablespoon of coconut oil
  • ½ teaspoon of sugar, honey or any other sweetener
  • 10 mg of CBD oil (½ a dropper of our regular CBD oil)
  • Hand blender
  • Mixing bowl
  • A mug

First, make sure that the coffee you brewed is not too hot.

If it’s still hot, wait for it to cool down for a couple of minutes. Add all of the ingredients into a bowl, and mix thoroughly using a hand blender.

Pour the mixture into your favorite coffee mug and enjoy this creamy CBD latte.

Plain CBD Coffee

If you’re not a fan of milky coffee, you can always make a plain black coffee.

In this case, be sure to use water-soluble CBD oil, since you won’t add any type of milk to your coffee.

When you’re using CBD that’s not water-soluble in beverages that don’t contain any fats, it will affect how good your body absorbs the cannabidiol.

You’ll need:

  • One mug of already-brewed black coffee (the choice of coffee blend is up to you)
  • 10mg of CBD oil (water-soluble)

Optional:

  • 1- 2 teaspoon of sugar or other sweeteners

After you brewed the coffee, let it sit for a couple of minutes, making sure that it’s not too hot.

Add CBD oil to the coffee, stir, and voila! Your homemade CBD coffee is ready.
