Can CBD Oil Make Your Heart Race

Even though the vast majority of users never experience rapid heartbeats from CBD oil, some people are unfortunately stricken by this unpleasant side effect.

If you’re reading this article, chances are this also happened to you.

If this is the case, one of the most important aspects to consider is the type of CBD oil that you’re using.

CBD oils come in two distinct varieties: full-spectrum CBD oil, and broad-spectrum CBD oil

The main difference between these oils is the amount of THC that they contain.

Full-spectrum CBD oils have a significantly larger amount of THC in them (when compared to broad-spectrum oils), and if you’re especially sensitive to THC, this can make all the difference.

Full-spectrum oils are legally available for purchase only in states that have a recreational cannabis program, as their high-THC content makes them illegal elsewhere.

A racing heart is a frequent side effect of THC, because this compound temporarily lowers blood pressure, causing the heart to pump quicker.

To conclude, the type of CBD oil that you’re using is potentially behind this occurrence.

Another potential culprit is the dose that you’re taking.

Even though it seems somewhat contradictory, smaller doses of CBD oil produce energizing effects in most users, while larger doses tend to produce a sedative effect.

For instance, if you’re taking a 20mg dose, you could try increasing your dose to 30mg or 40mg, and observe the effects that it produces.

This increase in dosage should only be attempted with broad-spectrum CBD oil, as the large levels of THC found in full-spectrum oils could induce an even worse racing heart.

If all else fails, you can also consider switching to CBD isolate products.

CBD isolates (as their name suggests) are essentially pure CBD, and they don’t contain any THC, or other non-psychoactive minor cannabinoids and terpenes.

It’s important to mention that CBD isolates are generally considered less-therapeutic than full-spectrum/broad-spectrum products, as they lack the synergic cooperation of various compounds, colloquially known as the “entourage effect”.

Finally, the overall quality of the oil is also a decisive factor.

The process of producing a top-notch CBD product is very meticulous and complicated, which increases the final price of the product. This of course doesn’t mean that you should pay top dollar for any CBD oil, as there are several ways to ensure that you’re getting your money’s worth.
